The area has five main towns/cities; Bristol - population of 400,000, Bournemouth and Poole – population of 300,000, Plymouth – population of 250,000, Swindon and Exeter. However, these are to be found in the more heavily populated areas. Recently however, there has been an increase in the number of farm outbuildings being converted into flexible office space, business centres / serviced office space and workspace. These rural business centres are encouraging more people to swap their city lives for the more relaxed pace of the countryside. Serviced office providers who operate in the region are Regus, MWB Business Exchange, MLS, Stonemartin, Workspace, Business Environment Group and Citibase. They are all represented here but the area is predominantly provided by local business centre operators such as Rombourne Business Centres, Abbey Manor Business Centre, County House Business Centres, Great Western Enterprise and many more.

Due to the size and spread of this region not many of the national office agents have located themselves here, however there are some very strong regional agents such as Wolton Chartered Surveyors as well as Chancellors, Knight Frank, King Sturge, Donaldsons, Lambert Smith Hampton and ATIS Real Weatheralls.
